Further

10KM. Today was the day.  I didn't really consciously decide this but I sort of thought I'd see how far I could get before turning around and coming back again.  I'd made it to 7k already on previous runs so thought that 10k was maybe possible with a big effort.

Conditions were good, it was a cool 18c evening and I just powered on and on. Lap times were typically slow. I made it up Nemesis Hill at just over 7 mins and then settled into a 6:40 - 6:50 min/k pace for most of the first 4k.  Once I'd passed the 4k mark I knew whatever I did would be a new distance so this kept me going up and up the hills until, after what felt like forever, Endomondo finally called out the 5km marker.  That was my cue to turnaround and clump back home again. Coming back was a lot faster than going out.

Here are my laps...

I had to grit my teeth a bit and resist the urge to walk, but I was determined to make it back to base with my first 10K under my belt.

I hit my goal in 1h:06m:17s.  My first 10KM.  Result!
